The finals of the 45th edition of the Badminton National Championships, will be held this Sunday and Monday, 15th and 16th May 2016, at Kirkop Sports Complex.  This year’s championships were a display of top level badminton, which will definitely peak over this weekend’s finals.

A much awaited Men’s singles between upcoming youngster Matthew Abela, who has recently obtained excellent results at an International tournament in Merano Italy and the experienced and reigning champion, Stefan Salomone, will kick off on Sunday at 2.30pm.  This will be followed by the Women’s singles which also promises to be an intriguing match, where Fiorella M Sadowski will be defending her title against the promising youngster, Sarah Fava.  The last match will be the Men’s Doubles, where Stefan Salomone and Samuel Cali will be challenged by the newly paired, Stephen Ferrante and Nigel Degaetano.  Monday’s program will feature the Mixed Doubles, where brothers Stefan and Robert Salomone will face each other in this year’s final partnered by Klara O’Berg and Tiziana Mifsud, respectively.
