2024 National Badminton Championships 10-11 February at Cottonera SC
21 players enter competition supported by Assikura Insurance Brokers
All is set for the 53rd edition of the National Badminton Championships, this year supported by Assikura Insurance Brokers PCC Limited.
A total of 21 players will be vying for the most prestigious honours in five categories, namely Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles, with the competition rolling off at the Cottonera Sports Complex on Saturday 10th February at 10am followed by the finals on Sunday.
Francesca Clark will be bidding to defend her second Triple Crown while Matthew Abela goes into the 2024 championships as the holder of two titles – Men’s Singles and Men’s Doubles.
Sam Cassar and Clark have their eyes set on retaining the mixed doubles prize.
High Expectations
“The expectations for the 53rd Badminton National Championships are high as this is the most prestigious event on Badminton Malta’s calendar, showcasing the best Maltese talent,” said Joanne Cassar, General Secretary of Badminton Malta.
“We expect a weekend of high-level competition as all the players have been training hard to boost their chances of doing well in this tournament.
“Our objective as Badminton Malta is to offer constant support to our players, providing them with the best conditions to improve and perform to the best of their abilities.
