Shuttle Time is the Badminton World Federation’s schools badminton programme, designed to help teachers and schools introduce badminton to children in a fun, safe and inclusive way.
Badminton Malta supports the development of Shuttle Time in Malta through teacher education, youth leadership and links with schools and educational institutions.
What is Shuttle Time?
The programme provides structured teaching resources, lesson plans and supporting materials so schools can deliver badminton with confidence. The official programme and latest materials are published by the Badminton World Federation.

For Teachers
The BWF Shuttle Time Teachers Course gives teachers the knowledge and practical resources to deliver safe, enjoyable and inclusive badminton sessions in schools.
Training can be delivered through Badminton Malta to groups of interested teachers, subject to demand and arrangements.
Participants gain access to the BWF Shuttle Time teaching resources, including lesson plans and supporting materials.
Youth Leadership
Youth Leadership Workshop – Expressions of Interest
Badminton Malta is inviting expressions of interest in the BWF Shuttle Time Youth Leadership Workshop for young people aged roughly 14–18. Slightly older participants are also welcome.
The workshop is designed for people who would like to assist coaches in local clubs or schools. It helps develop the knowledge and confidence to support fun, safe and inclusive badminton activities, and can be a first step towards BWF Level 1 coach education when participants are old enough and ready.
Dates to be confirmed. The workshop may take place over one or two Sundays between November 2026 and January 2027. Arrangements depend on the required equipment arriving, so no dates are confirmed yet.

University & College
The BWF Shuttle Time University Course provides international Shuttle Time education for students studying teaching, physical education and sport-related subjects.
The course combines theory and practical learning and is designed to equip future teachers with the knowledge and resources needed to introduce badminton to children aged 5–15.
