Effi is the mascot of the forthcoming 2016 International School Sport Federation World Badminton Championships. Effi was chosen following a call for submission of entries for the creation of an event mascot, which had to have a touch of Malta in the design.
The winner was Panuwat Sangiam from Thailand who won a logo competition and won an iPad Mini sponsored by AtoZ Electonics. Sangiam based his design on the Pharaoh Hound (Kelb tal-Fenek), which is native of the Maltese Islands. The colour of the mascot embodies the colour of the hound withtouches of red and white which were inspired by the colours of the Maltese flag.
Effi will be seen throughout the competitions, on t-shirts and medals given to winners.
