A few months ago the Executive Committee have discussed and decided to form two commissions to serve Badminton Malta on two different fronts.

The Competitions commission, chaired by BM’s Vice President Stephen Ferrante and having Tiziana Mifsud (Luxol), Martin Farrugia (Birkirkara), Norman Spiteri (Shuttles) and Rodney Abela (Paola), has met a couple of times already and is taking care of the running of all local competitions. Also, the commission is there to discuss and forward any ideas, feedback from players and other thoughts to the Executive Committee which will then discuss, decide and implement accordingly.

The Statute commission, chaired by BM’s President Chris Spiteri, is formed to create a forum where all the nominated club representatives discuss changed to the statute. This way we can discuss changes together and try to find agreements on different aspects of the statute. The commission is being also helped by Dr. Stephen Muscat, a lawyer with ample experience and who has helped other sport federations to write their statute. The commission is formed by Chris Spiteri, chairperson, Joe Salomone, representing Luxol Badminton Club, Dr. James De Gaetano, representing B’Kara Badminton Club, Charles Cassar, representing Paola Badminton club and Manuel Gatt, representing Shuttles Badminton Club.

This way, clubs are having a direct contribution to the Association with the running of the local activities and also with the direct contribution to the Statute, helping the association going further and stronger. Badminton would like to thank all the members who are contributing actively on both commissions.
