Full Members – Clause 5d
Registered members aged below eighteen years shall be bound to their respective Club as follows:
• Aged less than thirteen years – one season only;
• Aged thirteen years but less than eighteen years – until he/she is aged eighteen years. The said Club shall not hinder its registered member from transferring to another Club if the member so desires, provided the former Club receives compensation, calculated at €50.00 for every Season, capped at €150.00, that the transferred member shall have been registered with Badminton Malta, through his/her former Club, starting from age thirteen years onwards. In case the releasing club does not co-operate with the request, the case will be handed to Badminton Malta, for the transfer to be accepted. The said compensation is obligatory and not at the discretion of the Clubs involved in such transfer. Settlement of the said payment is to be effected during an Executive Council meeting, before the commencement of Badminton Malta’s official competitions. Non-compliance may result in the temporary suspension of the respective player’s registration with Badminton Malta and/or the Club’s registration with Badminton Malta. Thus, registered members with the club/s involved will not be allowed to compete during this period, until the Executive Council has decided upon the matter. The date by which the aforementioned ages shall be determined shall be the 31st December of that year. Should a club be interested in engaging any registered player or official belonging to another club registered with Badminton Malta, it shall first make an official contact with the player’s/official’s club and register the interest in writing any time during the month of August. The player or official involved may also be copied in all correspondence. In order to avoid any misunderstandings Badminton Malta shall be copied in all correspondence. Infringement of this regulation will attract a fine of €100.00 (One Hundred Euros) payable by any party at fault. And will be barred until settlement of outstanding fine/s. Any Barred club/s will not be eligible to attend Executive Council Meetings, except when summoned by Badminton Malta Executive Council. Any barred members will not be eligible to compete in any BWF, BE or Badminton Malta sanctioned tournaments. In the first and second instances, any fines/fees incurred by Badminton Malta from BWF and/or BE will have to be paid for by the party at fault. If in the latter, any scheduled games will be forfeited. It shall be the duty of the Club concerned to inform an existing or a prospective member (aged less than eighteen years) and his/her parents of all the foregoing before the Club accepts the respective registration.
